Story Editing Comments Rescinded
After seeing that the inclusion of my editing comments with stories has proven
to not be a popular method of encouraging story submitters to write quality
material that doesn't necessitate the painstaking and seizure-inducing effort
on my part to make literally hundreds of corrections at a time, I am rescinding
the listing of such comments with individual stories. I want to make it clear that this action is in no
way being taken to appease the assholes who bitched and moaned about it (and you
know who you are), but rather, because I feel that it might be scaring off potential
submitters. From here on, a story will simply not be posted if I decide that it
contains too many errors to warrant the effort to correct (keeping in mind that writing quality
alone is not a reason for a submission to be rejected). Perhaps I can just post
a list of the problems I encounter each week without attributing these items to the specific submissions
in which they were found. I think most people who read the stories recognize that
mediocre writing is inevitable and that I can only do so much to curtail it.
