Deeker's Message of the Week

August 2, 2009

All Updated Materials to be Posted on Monday

Due to time constraints, I am not even able to get the stories posted by tonight. I spent the better part of the day editing a long story that, in my personal opinion, was well worth the time and effort I spent on it (95% Deekerian rating). My goal is to have everything posted tomorrow night.

No More Simon's Journal

It is with much regret that I must report that Danny, the author of many fine stories on this web site, has decided to discontinue his stories. In a statement he sent to me, he indicated that he was tired of being threatened and harassed (the details of which he did not disclose) and was left with no choice but to cease his online presence. His email address is no longer active, and he has not provided me with any other email addresses or any other means of contact, so I cannot forward any correspondence to him.

His website, http://www.talkhard.5u.com, is also no longer up (which is why I did not post it as an active link).

Danny left it to my discretion as to whether or not to leave his stories on my site or to take them down. I have chosen to keep them posted, for I feel they are worthy of retention on the web site. His stories are as follows:

Alvin Ever After: Alvin in the First
Alvin Ever After: Alvin in the Second
Alvin Ever After: Alvin in the Third
Close Encounters
Goodbye Normal Jeans
Thirteen Days
Thirteen Nights
Thirteen Sails
Thirteen Summer Days

Please allow me to take a moment to personally address my friend and fellow associate story writer:

Danny,

I hope that you are still out there and will see this message. I am so sorry that you felt compelled to discontinue your stories and to shut down your web site. It is such a shame that the actions of a few forced you to make this decision. I respect your decision to make this move, and I understand your reasons to take this step. I just wish there was something I could have done to convince you to stay. I want to sincerely thank you for your great contributions to this web site. You are among few story writers whom I regard as outstanding. Here's hoping that the pains you are enduring from your experiences will heal and that perhaps one day you will return to the scene.

Best of luck to you in your current and future endeavors. Please feel welcome to contact me at any time.
