Deeker's Message of the Week

I usually don't post messages intended for one person to this site, but sometimes it's my only way to attempt to make contact with someone whose email address I do not have. With that said, I'd like to express my thanks to Autumn, who took the time to submit a well-written True Account on behalf of her nine-year-old brother. Autumn (and sisters), please feel free to contact me via email.

I'd also like to extend special thanks to Cory, who submitted a very noteworthy survey response, along with his brother and his sister each participating in their respective surveys. To Cory and family: I hope you'll get that computer for Christmas. You mentioned that you'd like to submit a story at that time. I look forward to seeing it.

Dumbass Award of the Week

Sorry to shift gears so suddenly here and cast a negative tone, but I just could not let the following matter go without some sort of rebuttal.

This week's Dumbass Award-- the first such Official Recipient thereof-- goes to the moron who posted the following on the Bravenet story board, in which I posted my reply to the author of Mikey's Accident, whose story is now on my site (hence the link).

Wow! What a "surprize"! [sic] Me liking a story about BOYS! Imagine that! What are the odds? Will miracles never cease! Sheez, what an idiot!

Hopefully I won't have to give out this award each week, but with an increase in the amount of stupidity I have to deal with from running this site (such as the dumbshit who recently complained about the lack of updates a few weeks back (see the 10/27/02 MOTW), perhaps the time has come to start recognizing the people who unjustly criticize me or this site. Maybe a "Hall of Shame" is in order.
