Deeker's Message of the Week

March 17, 2002

Stories

Thanks, again, for the story contributions. I was pleased especially to see that my established and regular contributors submitted their updates this week. Nice work, guys.

One matter that has come up from a couple people who have emailed me is that they feel discouraged from continuing their storues because of receiving so little feedback on their stories (those who allow having an email link, of course.) For anyone else who has experienced this, I can tell you that while many people do enjoy your stories, only a few will take the time to write a short note of thanks. While I would like to encourage everyone who visits this site to let the authors know you appreciate their work, I know that you have valid reasons not to. For example, maybe you don't want to be getting email back from this person and have someone else see it (i.e. parents). If this is the case, just indicate it in your message. The authors will understand, and many of them have been or would have likely been in your situation had the Internet been around when they were kids. It seems that people are more inclined to comment on a story in a public forum, such as a messahge board, than to contact the person privately. At one time I had a message board set up for this site, but in the three weeks I had it up before giving up and taking it down I received only one post, which was of very little substance at that. If any of you would like to see a message board for this siteand feel that it would serve a benefit to the visitors and the contributing authors please share your comments.

A couple people responded to last week's suggestions that I posted about making diaper stories from TV shows such as "The Wonder Years" and "Malcolm in the Middle", among others. I appreciate your interest in considering writing such stories and I will look forward to seeingg them if you decide to write them.

Surveys

I was pleased with the responses this week. The response rates for each of the three separate surveys was fairly even. I didn't get very many incompletes or responses which contained only blank or default answers.

A lot of people have told me they love the surveys. In fact, I sometimes wonder if these may be more popular than the stories, which have been and always will be the foundation for this web site. Hopefully some of you will either write stories based on your own responses or allow others to be inspired by your responses and write stories of their own.

Diaper Sighting Reports

I was disappointed to see that only three reports came in this week (actually four, but I rejected the last one because it contained almost no information whatsoever). I'm not blaming anyone for this, of course, since if there aren't any sightings, then obviously there's nothing to report. Remember that you can submit a sighting from any time; it doesn't have to be current. Just make sure that it counts as an actual sighting, that is, it occurs unexpectedly. I have to admit that I bent the rules with one of the reports that I received because there were so few reports received this past week. It was just too cute to pass up as it involves two young boys having a sleepover together and going out to buy a pack of Pull-Ups for them to poop in. If only I could have done something like this with my friends when growing up.

Diaper Boy Drawings

Since people continue to request these I am going to leave the email link for requesting them open at least until I decide whether to include them on my site. I may do a trial run and post a sample of some of my best and personal favorite ones and see how this impacts the traffic on my site. To request these drawings, just email a request for them.

Off the Topic

This past week was pretty much uneventful. I did go out to see Time Machine, however. I really enjoyed it. I'm not as critical about the movies I see as other people and I like most of the ones I see. I'll avoid spoiling the movie for anyone who would like to see it but hasn't yet. The movie did leave me to think about what may happen in the future if we take technology too far. It also rekindled my tentative plans to write a story about a boy who goes back a few years in his life to get put into diapers. Don't ask me when I will write this story, as my plate is pretty full as it is with my current writing project Forever in Diapers.

Even though today is St. Patrick's Day, all my diapers are white, and I don't have anything green to wear as it is. Oh well, I'll probably stay home all day, anyway.

Have a great week everyone, and stay happy and thickly diapered!
