Report Errors | Deeker's Message of the WeekMarch 7, 2010 Getting Back on TrackUnfortunately not everything was recovered. I lost a good portion of the source files for the stories, which are saved in Microsoft Word (.doc) format. I know I have an archive of these burned to a CD somewhere, but that was a few years ago. At least I have all the .html files, which I could always get from the web site anyway. I also inexplicably lost the Microsoft Excel file that processed the survey responses for the Babysitter's Survey. Why it was not included in the backup, I don't know. Until I rebuild this worksheet from scratch (using one of the other survey spreadsheets, of course), I won't be able to update this section of the surveys. I imagine there will be a few other odds and ends that will turn up missing as I find myself in need of files that aren't there. Still, it seems that I have attained a recovery rate of 99%. As always, your patience and understanding is appreciated. I am proposing a number of enhancements and improvements to the site, though I do not wish to announce them, lest they not come to fruition. I will still try to maintain pace with the weekly updates while at the same time trying to work such improvements into the site. Such improvements will be announced here in the MOTW once they go live. * * * * *
