They didn't wake up every morning wet and stinky. They didn't have to lay down and be changed in front of the whole family on camping trips.

Mike P.	56	At my present age, I'm over being envious. I've come to accept my disability (spina bifida), my incontinence, and that I need diapers. As a younger person (especially as a teenager), I was upset at times that I can't control my bowels and bladder and had to deal with wearing diapers. For a long time it was difficult for me to take care of myself in the bathroom (especially in school) particularly when I had BM accidents. At school there were other kids who were more disabled than me, but they were still able to go to the toilet with help and were accident-free (number one and number two). So, I went through a period where I wished I could stay clean and dry and resented my condition.

	52	I started needing to wear diapers when I was 25 due to an accident. I really enjoyed being able to just wear boxer shorts or sexy men's briefs or bikinis. Regular men's underwear is more comfortable than diapers and plastic pants. I liked not having to tell new girlfriends about my diapers. I liked being able to go to the pool or gym; I don't do that now. I liked just being a "regular guy."

My mother worked with me to improve my changing skills when I was soiled and she encouraged me to be very conscientious about getting changed frequently to minimize my odors and lower others' awareness of my problem.

Even today as an older adult sometimes I can get away without going to the bathroom for longer periods of time. Of course I run the risk of being noticeably wet (odor) or leaking through my plastic pants.

Obviously I would be able to toilet myself as everyone else does and be odor-free, accident-free, diaper-rash free, etc. Even though I use enemas and suppositories to manage my bowel movements and I only mess myself once or twice a week (and usually it's not too bad), I think it would be nice to be able to feel when I need the toilet, be able to hold it until I got here, and go to the bathroom like most people do. I think I'd be more comfortable and at ease with others.

DiaperDon	36	I eventually quit wetting the bed, and didn't have to wear diapers anymore. Then there was no reason for envy. It was years later that I re-discovered diapers and found out how much I like them.

	52	Probably the first time I felt envious of non-diaper wearers was when I wanted to go swimming or go to the doctor. I was about 26 at the time.
	52	Diapers are just underwear (embarrassing underwear!). Over time, I've just come to accept that I have to wear diapers. I'd rather wear diapers than embarrass myself. Just wear your diapers and don't worry about them.
