My mother caught me in the act, and unknown to me she had brought along the diaper bag for just such behavorial lapses. Mom immediately picked up the diaper bag, slung it over her shoulder, and taking me by the arm, she said Alright Mister Smarty pants, let's go change your pants. She then marched me upstairs, laid me down on a bed, and changed me out of my pants and underwear, and into a diaper and plastic pants. I bawled like a baby the whole time.

So how I knew that was not referring to my usual diapering that was taken place as she spoke her words. After my mom finished pinning on my night time diaper and pulling on my rubber pants, I was put into my polo style pajamas with snaps at the waist. I went to the family room and watched TV for an hour or so before being taken to bed. When my mom took me back to my bedroom to put me to sleep, I saw that she had put out my clothes for the next day on my changing table as was her custom. There was a red and blue striped T-shirt, short pants and white socks as I would expect. However instead of the sky blue cloth training pants with airplanes on them (my big boy underpants) like I had messed that day, she had put out cloth diapers, pins and baby pants. This really brought home the threat from earlier that evening that I had hoped had been forgotten. I said nothing, but after the lights were out, I got up and put the diapers and rubber pants back on the lower shelf of the changing table were the rest of their kind were stored. I got a pair of my big boy pants from my dresser drawer and put them with my clothes for the next day. Hopefully when I a woke my messy pants and the whole diaper thing from the day before would be forgotten and I would be dressed as usual. When my mom came in in the morning about 9 AM she noticed the switch right a way. �I told you that you were going to have to wear diapers until you stop wetting and messing your pants.� I proceeded to beg, promise, plead and whine sufficiently, that I eventually talked her into dressing me with my big boy pants. After breakfast I was sent into the back yard to play. At about 10:30 AM I suddenly got the runs. Even though I had the best of intentions, I did not make it to the bathroom. The accident was not only earlier in the day than usual, it was much bigger. Mom seemed to discover it almost immediately. At this point there was no hope. I had used all my good will and arguments just less than two hours earlier. I was taken to the bathroom first where I was stood in the bath tube and washed from the waste down. Then I was taken to my room and laid on the changing table. I put up token resistance but I knew it was useless. I cried as I was pushed gently on to my back and my legs lifted so that the double diaper that had been folded over to make it four layers thick, was slid under my butt. But by the time the baby oil and powder had been applied, I had run out of tears. When the baby pants were slip on and I was stood up on the floor while my mom made sure that no part of the diaper poked out of the elastic bands I had almost completely accepted my lot. My only concern then was being sure that when I went back out to play, the diapers were completely concealed by my shorts.
