Xavier's New Family Xavier Kegley, was adopted by the Kegleys. Xavier, a dark red haired boy of 9, was abused, so he was put into foster care when he was 4. For 5 years, he was in foster care, but no one really cared about him - especially when he wet his bed or his pants. With his foster family, his foster brothers made fun of him, but that was the best thing. Mostly, his foster parents didn't care about him. His sheets were changed about once a month, and his room was in the basement. Xavier, didn't care, since no one wanted him. That all changed three months before his 10th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Kegley were looking to adopt. The Kegleys has 4 children - twin boys of 12, a girl of 15 and a boy of 17. They been looking to adopt, so they had the home studies, so soon Xavier was placed with them. On the day they were bringing home, Xavier, it was a typical day at his foster home. Xavier woke up in a wet bed, and his foster brother started to laugh. "Hey baby," Chris Bradshaw said, "You new home will kick you out of their house." "Ya, they will give you back to us," Liam Bradshaw said. "They don't want a bedwetting baby!" Liam grinned at his brother. Xavier knew that they wanted him, yet he was unsure about them. 'Are they going to yell at me?' Xavier was asking to himself. Xavier didn't want them to be mad, but what should he do. He looked at the foster family's bio-sons, and said, "They like me. They won't kick me out." At the Kegley's - a 6 bedroom, 3 bath Georgian on 7 waterfront acres, the Kegleys were having breakfast, when Ken Kegley, their 17 year old, said. "I hope Xavier will enjoy us. When are you getting him?" "He'll like us, Ken. He is a sad boy, but I think Mark and Matt will help him," Richard Kegley, the dad, said. "After we get Xavier, we should be at the track before the race. Matt and Mark, make sure you got everything. I didn't check the trailer to see if you have everything." Mark looked at Matt, his twin, and said, "Dad is letting us check our gear. Lets see if we got everything. Ken, when is our race?" Matt said, "Lets check it, Mark. I think we got everything, but lets make mom and dad proud of us. I guess it is time that we make sure we got our gear." He looked at his dad, and said, "Right? Our sponsors would be mad if we got disqualified." Brenda Kegley, the mom, laughed and said, "So true, Matthew. Just because your grandparents and your uncle are you two main sponsors, you need to keep them happy. When you guys are in NASCAR, they still might sponsor you. We got to get Xavier. Zena, make sure they are ready." The Kegley's are a racing family. In the driveway was a trailer marked 'Kegley-DiNapoli Racing Enterprises', and in the trailer were three racing vehicles - two quarter midgets - of Matt and Mark's and a three quarter midget of Kenny. The trailer was hitched to a red Ford F 350 crew cab, so Mr. and Mrs. Kegley got into their dark green Ford Excursion. Richard saw that his wife had a worried look, so he kissed her and said, "What is the worrying, my beautiful wife?" "I just hope that Xavier will like us. According to Mrs. Tregea, he is a depressed boy. I just hope he'll like us. I just hope he will like what we want him to do," Brenda said. "I think he'll like us. Remember, Matt and Mark were depressed to, but now look at them. Too bad Kenny didn't start earlier but I think we got the next racing family here. Don't worry, I think Xavier is depressed because no one ever told him that he isn't alone. We got to go to Mrs. Tregea and then pick up Xavier. Think I should check the trailer?" "I think they are ready to make sure they got everything ready. I hope my brother in law will sponsor Xavier's quarter midget racer. I hope Xavier will like it. I think it'll help him to give him a sense of pride. Anyway, ready love to pick up our son?" Brenda looked at Richard. Richard said, "Lets pick up our son." At Xavier's foster family, Mrs. Nancy Bradshaw, knew that Mrs. Tregea would be coming, so she tidied up the empty room upstairs. The Bradshaws, showed that room to Mrs. Tregea, as being Xavier's room, but it really wasn't. Matter of fact, Xavier could never be upstairs. She then had Xavier take a bath, then she had him put on a pair of brand new underwear and a t-shirt and new jeans and a new polo shirt, the first time he got anything new from the Bradshaws, as most of his clothes were ripped and old. Xavier was a little nervous, so he was pacing in the living room. He knew a little about the Kegleys, but he was nervous, as he thought they would hate him for being a sleepwetter. Xavier couldn't sit down, so Mrs. Bradshaw said, "Stop pacing! They'll be here soon and they'll pick you up. I'm not sure why they want a peeboy like you." Xavier sat on the sofa, while his eyes were tearing. 'I hope the Kegley's will love me. I hate being a peeboy. The Kegley's will hate me, too." As Richard and Brenda were on the way to pick up Xavier, and Xavier were waiting for them, at the Kegley's, Zena said, "Are you guys ready to get changed? Do you want disposable or cloth?" Matt said, "I guess we should wear disposables. Bring cloth for after the race. Do you think Xavier will like us?" Zena said, "He will. He is sad because he doesn't know that you guys need diapers, so he thinks that we'll make fun of him. I think he'll be happy when he realize that you need diapers and that you are typical pains in the butts." She smiled at her brothers, then said, "Xavier will need our help." Mark said, "I hope he'll try racing. I'm glad we are racing. I think this helps us with the confidence that incontinence is a handicap, but it'll be OVERCOME. Zena, thanks." "For what?" Zena asked her brothers. "Come up to your bedroom and lets get ready. Going to win you guys?" Matt looked at Mark and said, "We'll both win! We'll go across the finish line together. Hope Ken'll win and I hope Uncle Robert will win, too. Let's go." Zena said, "You guys are good. I hope Elliott, Sterling and Marlin will win their classes today, too. Come on you two babies, lets change you. Ken is going to check your stuff." Zena took Matt and Mark up to their nursery.
