Dave and Tayler - Prologue Tayler Cheser went through the school's doors and saw his mom waiting for him. Tayler was disappointed, but his mom told him that she'll pick him up after school. Tayler, 9 years old, looked around to see if his friends were watching. Tayler went to his mom's car, a 1999 Chevy Malibu. He opened the rear door and said, "Mom, you didn't have to pick me up." He got in and looked at Faine, his 17 month old brother. Tayler smiled and said, "Hello Faine. Bet you had fun today." Shelly Cheser, his mom, a 30 year old widowed lady, said, "We need to get them. Why not try it? You might be happier in the morning. Give it a try, love." She started to drive out of the school ground, then said, "Got homework?" Tayler saw they won't going towards their house, so he thought, 'Maybe mom won't get them.' Tayler said, "I have math, spelling and English. Where are we going?" Shelly said, "We are going to a new supermarket, love. Faulk's has baby food on sale and Faine needs some." In the Faulk's, Dave Faulkenham, a 35 year old man whose family owns Faulk's looked around the store. As regional president of Faulk's, he wanted this Faulk's - the first one in the area, to be the best supermarket. Dave walked around the store, which was busy, picking up misplaced merchandise and trash on the floor. Dave, the 4th generation of Faulkenhams, wanted the store to be nice. He asked the porter to mop the entrance, since shoppers were dragging in mud, due to construction of the plaza. He then went and helped the cashiers. Shelly turned into Faulk's Plaza. She maneuvered around the parking lot, since the plaza - where Faulk's, Suffolk's and some small stores are located is under construction. Tayler saw the parking lot was busy, so Tayler said, "Do we have to get them?" Shelly pulled into a space and said, "Yes. Don't worry, love. If you want we can get a pizza to take home. Only if you are good." Shelly got out of the car and got Faine out of his car seat. She carried Faine while she and Tayler walked to the entrance. Chapter 1 At the entrance, Shelly got a carriage, so she placed Faine in the seat. They walked in and started to walk in the produce section. She put some grapes, mangos, oranges and apples in the carriage. They got more produce, then went to the meat section. After buying some meat, they went into the baby aisle. Tayler looked around the aisle and said, "Mom, please. Do we have to get them?" Tayler knew his mom is going to get them, but he was nervious. He looked up and down the baby aisle. Shelly looked at her son and said, "Yes, we do. Tayler, you do need them. No one is in the aisle, so we can get them and put them in the cart. Besides, we need some food and diapers for Faine. Don't worry, love, no one will know." Tayler said, "I hope not! I'd be the laughingstock at school." Tayler believes that he is the only 4th grader at Plum Creek Elementary School, his school. He doesn't know four of his classmates are bedwetters - including his best friend and a new boy in his class that he likes. He looked at the brands, then took 'Cirrus Diapers', the store brand. He threw it into the cart - then covered them up with the produce and the meat his mom bought. "Lets leave the aisle, mom." Shelly said, "Not so fast, young man. We need diapers and food for Faine. Besides, remember what I said if you are good, we'll get a pizza." Shelly started to put some baby food into the cart. Shelly looked at Tayler who looked like he didn't want to be here. At the checkout, Dave looked at the mom and her son in the baby aisle. Dave, who is a bedwetter, was wondering if the boy was afraid of being known as a bedwetter. 'Young man,' he thought to himself, 'You aren't the only bedwetter. Why not enjoy it? Clay does, and I bet you'd be great friends.' Clay was Dave's son and yes, the new boy in Tayler's class. In the aisle, Tayler looked around and said, "Mom, may I please look at the magazines? I don't want Austin, Aaron or Clay to know I am a bedwetter. I don't want them to see me in here." Of course, the chances of him seeing his buddies here are one hundred to one, but Tayler is nervous. His mom said, "I guess you can. Want a pizza, love? If you want, you can order the pizza. Want it here?" "We can get a pizza?" Tayler asked. "Thanks, mom." Tayler went to the pizza counter and ordered a cheese, peppers and pepperoni pizza. He then went to the magazine section and looked at the magazines. Dave heard his cell phone ring, so he answered his phone after seeing it was Clay. Dave said, "Hello, buddy. How was school today?" Clay said, "Great, daddy! I just want to tell you that I might invite a friend over. He is shy, but I think I know why?" Dave said, "Why, buddy?" He loves to call his son 'Buddy'. Dave was looking at the mom who was buying baby foods, bottles and other baby supplies. 'I wonder if that boy wants to be babied,' Dave thought to himself. Clay said, "Tayler, is a nice boy, daddy. I think he is a bedwetter, too. He is good in sports, too. He is my best friend, but he doesn't want me to go to his house." Tayler was looking at the magazines, but he was thinking about his new best friend. 'Clay, I hope you don't hate me, but I think you'll hate me. I know you want me to have you over, but you'll see I'm a piss boy and you'll hate me. I'm still in shock that Austin and Aaron is still my friends.' He sniffed.
