Old Enough How a boys life changed forever Evan loved Halloween. It wasn't the 'trick or treating' though. He was fifteen after all, and much too old for such childish things. He just loved scaring the heck out of the little kids in the neighborhood. It was pretty easy and a lot of fun jumping out from behind trees and fences to terrify his tiny victims. Sometimes he even got a free bag of dropped candy to boot. The timing was everything. Of course the black and red shadow outfit he wore didn't hurt, either. It was getting late and he was about to call it a night when he saw a little girl of about eight or nine, dressed like a witch and walking with her mother. Setting himself up just right and leaping at the last second Evan yelled 'Boo!' and relished the high pitched scream that came from the child. The girl's mother didn't look very happy however. "Aren't you a little old to be scaring children?" she admonished. Evan shrugged off the comment and replied, "Old enough not to have to listen to you." The woman simply smiled and said, "Oh, my mistake, you really aren't that old, after all. In fact, you couldn't be more than twelve." Evan felt a sudden chill run through his body and he could feel his costume loosen on her. When he looked down he could see he wet his pants. He found his thoughts to be a bit clouded but he remembered the scare she'd given the little girl and the insult she'd received from the mother. In response he said, "I'm not scared of you, lady. I had fun scaring your brat and I'd do it again." The woman simply sighed and said, "I thought you were old enough to apologize, but it seems I was mistaken. You're really just a child like my Vanessa here." Again Evan felt the chill and his costume now seemed huge on her. He still felt confused and looked straight into the eyes of the girl he'd scared. The blonde was giggling at her, as if what she'd done had been funny. Evan didn't like that, not one bit. She got laughed at enough at school for how little he was. He liked it even less coming from someone he'd tried to scare. Evan couldn't see was how stupid he now looked in his oversized costume. It was that the girl had been laughing at. The woman grabbed Evan by the shoulder and pulled him away from her daughter. She swiftly received a kick in the shin for her trouble. "Ow!" she exclaimed, then said angrily, "I thought you were old enough to behave but it looks like I was wrong there, too. I suppose from the beginning you were acting like the one year old you really are." The struggling Evan suddenly felt very cold. The world around him grew as did the people in front of him. Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew something was very wrong. He wasn't little, he was big. At least his costume didn't get any bigger but instead shrank to match his new size. He was soon very scared since he had no idea where her mommy was. She saw a big girl in front of him and was very confused. That girl had been smaller than him, hadn't she? Without warning the big girl bent over and yelled, "Boo!" An already frightened little Evan was scared out of his wits and began to cry, his diaper suddenly feeling very warm, messy and very heavy. "Vanessa! You shouldn't scare little children like that, it isn't nice. Now apologize.", the woman said. "Yes mommy.", replied the little witch. "I'm sorry I scared you. What's your name?" "I'm Evan.", the toddler mumbled around his thumb. "Evan. What a pretty name.", the mother said. "And what are you dressed as?" "I'm a kittie.", Evan said. "Of course you are, honey. Now, do you know where you live?" Evan nodded in response and the woman picked up the brown haired toddler and held him in her arms. The costume had turned into a kitten. The woman smiled upon feeling the child's diaper, admiring her own skill. Clothing morphs could be difficult after all. She knew Evan would wake up the next day remembering everything that had happened in his fifteen year life but having lost all acquired knowledge. Selective spells could be so effective. But would remain a 1 year old. Finally the woman said, "I'll get you home then. You really aren't old enough to be out here on your own." The End
