To further back up my own contention that boys still reign the supreme bedwetting champions, I appealed to a friend who works as a manager in a fairly large retail chain with its stores located mostly in the midwest and western United States. He compiled some data from the sales of Goodnites products in the store he manages over a period of several months, and gave me a few numbers to help support my contention. For this I would like to sincerely thank him for his time and his efforts. In addition I also asked some other people to check out the sales of Goodnites. They, too, were also able to confirm that the boys' Goodnites outsell the girls' Goodnites by a considerable margin, thus further corroborating my notion, and more importantly, physiological fact. Below is a table showing the data presented to me:
Month | Small/Medium Jumbo Pack- Boys | Large/Extra Large Jumbo Pack- Boys | Small/Medium Mega Pack- Boys | Small/Medium Jumbo Pack- Girls | Large/Extra Large Jumbo Pack- Girls | Small/Medium Mega Pack- Girls |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
August 2004 | 12 | 11 | 6 | 0 | 3 | 1 |
September 2004 | 27 | 26 | 24 | 2 | 5 | 2 |
October 2004 | 12 | 11 | 9 | 0 | 5 | 1 |
November 2004 | 15 | 12 | 5 | 0 | 6 | 0 |
December 2004 | 15 | 10 | 15 | 6 | 2 | 4 |
TOTAL UNITS | 81 | 70 | 59 | 8 | 21 | 8 |
I have also produced a bar graph to show these data.
Notice how sales spike for September? This is believed to be due to the increased "back to school" traffic found in the store at the time.
Anyone else who is a retail store manager or who has access to such data is welcome to submit his or her own findings. The more samples I collect, the better.
