My parents were listening to rock and roll, and I was busy pushing a soft log into my diaper. I also remember urinating and feeling the warmth trickle down my skin. (This memory is likely where I got the fascination with feelings.) When we got there, my mother and grandmother changed me. First, my grandmother picked me up, and rhythmically patting my bottom while singing "Wet wet pet, wet wet pet. One a pennie two a pennie wet wet pet." I vaguely remember being changed and wiped, but this is not as clear.

	55	I was about 7 and in the first grade. I was old for my grade. I had urinated on the floor in the bathroom at my Grandparents house. I had never wore diapers before except as a baby. Granddad was upset and wiped up the floor. He told me to take off and pants and underwear and come with him. We went to his den and he scolded me , spanked me and left me alone for while. Wehn he retunred, he had an old cloth diaper that he pinned on me. He just said, you know why you have to wear ths don't you. After that, the diaper was part of discipline.

Loring	40	Between '68 and '69, I remember standing in the backseat of the same car while wearing cloth diapers and plastic panties. Examples of the songs that brings back these memories is "Hooked on a Feeling" by B.J. Thomas and Dizzy by tommy Roe. In addition to music, I have the smells of chinaberry and oleander blossoms associated with diapers. I was raised near these plants and remember smelling them and wearing diapers.

I realized I had to pee, so I stopped playing and let it out as I was lying in my bed. I can vividly remember the hissing sound and the warm rush that accompanies urination in a diaper. I then decided that, since I washed the inside with my pee, I should wash the outside with some of the water in my bottle, which I did. Some time later, I was sleeping with my stuffed Rudolf reindeer when I was roused by the shrill tone of the nearby fire whistle. I just laid there listening to the whistle and pooping in my diaper. I was usually on my back when doing this type of thing.

	55	I had gone to bed wearing a diaper. I was about twelve. I had gotton so used to wearing it to bed, that one morning I forgot about it and came downstairs to the kitchen wearing it. My father was drinking coffee. I just got my cereal bowl and make cereal. While standing at the counter I suddenly realized I had on my cloth diaper I wore to bed.I jumped and turned to see if Dad had noticed. he was looking at me and just smiling. I was very embarassed and started to run upstairs when he said to stop. I froze and he just said, "its all right to be in your diaper. at least I have your attention and you are aware of others for the first time. Just maybe you should be made to be aware more often." I just nodded and sat down and ate my cereal. I was still embarrased and I was very aware of the situation. I was so quiet and it was true, I was actually listening and aware of my Father's presence. I became focused.

Deeker	37	Most of my diaper-related memories are centered around my frequent poop accidents and my toilet training stubbornness. On many occasions I was in cloth training pants and a shirt. Loring	40	Some of the things I remember is wetting my diapers back then. But the main thing I especially remember is the plastic panties between my legs. Since I had a pretty good memory back then, I remember a lot of the songs on the radio back in my diaper days (late '60's). One thing that stands out was that I had such an early awareness that I remember being scared of being stuck with the diaper pins during a change. Fortunately, I was never stuck.

I can remember a few instances of wetting and then squeezing the gelled material. The diapers had a taping pannel that contained some form of cartoon characters on it, usually Big Bird or someone like that. They were rather loud and crinkly.

	55	I am very aware that perhaps the way I was tld to wear diapers would not be approrpaite in many situations. I was never humiliated. I was alwaysed loved. I was also an out of control child (hyperactive, never remembered to do chores, poor listener, self absorbed). I think my parents just got ;ucky that the diapers somehow got my attention. I did have wetting accidents. But it must have been very obvious that when i was in a diaper I was actually a better behaved child. I was slowed way down, quiet, focused and clam. The warm pee was actually comforting (just the dribbles that I alwasy had that left a wet spot of puddle on the floor in front of the toilet. This worked. A spanking, medication or other ways just never worked.
Roger		About 5 being told that it was time to get my diapers on and having to lie down on my be while mom got the diapers and rubber pants and baby powder together to put on me. Probably I was getting older and was realizing that other kids my age didn't wear diapers at night.

Nicholas	12	Mom and dad has tried to toilet train me several times. The last time was about a year ago. I hate it - cause i know i will pee or poop in my pants. Sometimes mom wants to sit on the potty for more than an hour an often it comes in my pants as soon i get my pants on again.
The Nasty Blind Aspie	21	I did not, I repeat DID NOT take well to toilet training. I often refused to use the toilet, prefering rather to soil my underwear. These were the days before Pull-Ups, so my poor mother had it pretty bad. I was also afraid of the toilet, but after she cleaned it and let me play in it I realised it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. (Toilets are perfect places to get rid of your sister's little toy Polly Pocket dolls and things. AHHH YES, revenge is SWEET!)
Mike	18	I remember having diahrea at the doctor's office during my time of toilet training and that had to be the longest check-up ever. Fortunately my doctor was not too frustrated and he got me into a diaper.

	55	Don't remember it. I did not have problems other than when I am done peeing, I have the extra squirt of pee after I am done that either makes a mark on my pants or hits the floor. Still the same way today. So eventually the diaper helped me with this situation.

Deeker	37	There was nothing good about it. I was always scolded for having accidents and not wiping, or something. I don't remember being praised or rewarded for using the toilet. It was just expected of me, and failure to do so would mean getting scolded, which I deeply resented.

Jacob	27	One clear memory of my toilet training days was waking up from my nap and feeling the need to poo. I had been put in a nappy for the nap and
		for some reason I decided to pretend that I was a baby and poo in my nappy. I stood up next to my bed and pushed it out and I remember how
		good it felt as poo filled my nappy. My mother wasn't very impressed, and told me that if I was going to act like a baby then she would treat
		me like a baby. I wish I had taken her up on that offer.

Loring	40	I remember wearing just a cloth diaper with no plastic panties on. However, I remember one pooping accident. I think it took a half-year to get the deed done.
Robby	47	My toilet training started at age 4 1/2. It continued until I was 8. Generally I started each day in training pants. If I had an accident, I was put in a diaper for the rest of day. I was a bed wetter, so I was diapered every night until 8. For "special occations" such as vacations, long car trips, or holliday dinners at relatives, I was diapered "just to be safe." Sometimes these special occations could be a trip to the store, especially if I had been having lots of accidents. I would protest being put in a diaper when I had not wet. However, I ususually ended up with a wet or messy diaper. Then my mom would remind me, "You thought you didn't need a diaper! Mommy knows her baby."

Nicholas	12	I dont know why mom and dad keep on trying to toilet train me - cause it is useless. Usually toilet training takes about a week and then mom gives up again and put me back in diapers.

I don't know how long it lasted, but I remember getting in trouble several times for messing my pants. (Not that I blame my mother, who was perfectly within her rights.) I do remember being rewarded with chocolate licorice, which I still love to this day. I think it was the licorice that did the trick.
Mike	18	I remember having a dump on the carpet of my dad's friend's apartment as he was babysitting me over the weekend (parents were at a wedding). He didn't seem too happy about it and made me stay in the bathroom all night. He then gave in and put me in a diaper.

I had been put into pull-ups and I always used them, my parents were of course fine with this at first but eventually they began to get impatient and I wasn't going to give up. I also remember my friend josh not wanting to be trained either, we kind of made the protest together then. Eventually they gave up with it. The only difference from before training was that I would keep wearing pull-ups and change myself.

Deeker	37	I was past age 4 and still in diapers. By the time I was five I was dubiously declared toilet trained, though I was still having a lot of accidents. When it looked like I was still not quite 100% ready I was put into multiple pairs of white underpants, which was like wearing diapers all over again.

lolololollolololooloooll	18	I liked looking at the pictures that had diapers in the Once Upon a Potty book; I switched to training pants at one point, but I'm not sure when, and I might have been put back in diapers afterwards, since I just used the pullups as diapers anyway, and diapers were cheaper. One day I was trained and that was it, I never had any accidents or wet the bed, except for a few times years later.

Loring	40	Since cloth diapers were still in popular usage in the late 60's, I saw quite a few diaper-age boys back then. I had a lot of male siblings from different relatives back then. I remember getting erections back then when I saw other diaper-age boys back then. One of the things that influenced me back then was seeing some of them in light-blue plastic panties. That is what influences my plastic panty purchases today.

The Nasty Blind Aspie	21	I always experienced (still do) a pang of out right envy whenever I would see someone, boy or girl big or small, in diapers. When I was little, I used to zone out when anything involving diapers came up, especially if I was near them. I would follow little kids just to listen to that crinkle noise.
Mike	18	It was most likely seeing my cousin being changed at his house. For whatever reason it amused me quite often and I usually stayed with him because he was closest to my age.

		It wasn't much of an issue for me at first, that is before I liked diapers for reasons other than that I hated the alternative. I had a friend named josh (we still talk) who when I met him we were both in diapers, shotly after our parents decided to try potty training at the same time, so we were put in pull-ups. We would always be in each other's room in only these, yet it seemed normal.
Jimbo	59	Envious of the fact they could wear diapers and I could not.When I saw the on TV I wished that I could reach out and grab them and put them on.
	55	The only other boy my age I saw in a diaper was my cousin who wore diapers because of bed wetting. We slept together when we both stayed at Granddad and Grandma's house. He would be dipaered by Grandma just before bedtime. I loved how he looked. this went on from about age 12 until we left for college. I saw him a few times a year. Sometimes Granddad would come to our room and put a diaper on me so I would not be able to tease my cousin at school. Since we both had on a diaper, we would be even (and silent). I woke up dry and he was alwyas wet. Later we helped each other put on diapers.

The Nasty Blind Aspie	21	I received the usual line about how diapers are for babies and potties are for big boys. As I said, I mostly remember parental frustration for my lack of interest in the cursed toilet. I can remember my mother being quite happy when I no longer required diapers.

Deeker	37	I was often reminded that I was getting "too big" or "too old" to be wearing diapers and not using the potty like a "big boy." Since I had no older brothers (or any brothers, for that matter), and I didn't spend much time with other kids in the neighborhood, I was pretty much isolated and had no other boys as a frame of reference, if you will, or to serve as an example.

Deeker	37	They complained about how I smelled, but they sure liked to talk about how cute I looked in diapers. I especially remember them talking about how I looked wearing a dozen pairs of underwear and using them like diapers. My sisters always liked to "blame" by toilet difficulties on the fact that I was a boy (and it turns out they were right).
