Tommy	18	I had absolutely no desire to let anyone know that I still wore disposable baby diapers long after my friends and classmates quit wearing them. It was humilitating to be wearing a baby diaper in front of a younger sibling and having to wear one virtually everywhere I went so I wouldn't have any accidents.
bedwetter	38	well before i was 12 i used to wear 3-4 pairs of underpants along with a pair of plastic pants as a diaper and i tried to hide it as much as possible this started when i was about 10
Stephen	58	I never discussed this feeling. I wanted to tell my Mother. My Mother told me that she shared everything with my Father, so I never discussed my desire to wear diapers with my parents.
Ron	56	She had not much choice, I wet the bed and she had to put me into diapers and plastic pants. She was taking care of a lot of family members and did not have the time to worry about bed wetting. So diapers were the only choice.

poohter	49	I wet my bed almost every night until I was 16. Mother my aunt and several babysitters gave me baths and changed my diapers. I felt like a little baby and was very ashamed. I was so afraid that kids in my neighborhood would find out.
Kregg	13	I started getting punished with diapers when I was 8 and it was so embarrassing so I hated it when people knew but everyone knew anyway because a lot of times I have to wear just my diapers and no pants and my Mom makes sure my shirts are short so my diapers show. Even if I do get to wear pants they are not very good at hiding that I have diapers on and so everyone can tell. I guess after a while you get used to it but it is still embarrassing.
Chase	11	I just hate it because I am 11 and I should not be wearing diapers and other stuff they make me do when I do bad stuff and it makes me feel like a big baby. And people look at me funny and stuff so I don't want them to see my diapers even though I don't have any choice in it because most of the time I am not allowed to wear pants over my diapers. Even if I do get to wear pants everyone with eyes can tell I have diapers on because first of all they put so many on me and also the pants are tight and so the big bulgy diapers show anyway so they might as well just throw away the pants. Even if the pants did hide the diapers all the noise they make would make it so everyone knew but I still don't like it and would rather not have to wear them.
Marc & boys	16	I, and my brothers have never any other thing but wearing diapers, so it has all our lives been normal & natural. only few times & places have I, we been embarrassed about wearing & using diapers.
Mike P	55	Before age 12 I probably went through two phases. Before age 8 I wasn't that concerned when people found out I was still in diapers, but afterwards I became more sensitive about it. Up until the time I started school at age 5 I don't think I thought much about it. When I started school I became aware of other kids who, like me, had spina bifida and needed to wear diapers. At home it was very hard to hide this because all of my "things" (diapers, diaper pail, plastic pants, etc) were out in the open in our family bathroom. After all, my parents needed access to this stuff all the time, so it wasn't practical hide. So anyone in our home who needed to use our bathroom saw my things. At school the kids with spina bifida weren't afforded any special bathroom privacy, and so we were changed in front of anyone else who happened to be in the bathroom at the same time. But around age 8 things became different as it seemed we (the kids in diapers) were teased more and made fun of by other kids. And of course kids talk, and once one kid knows you wear diapers every kid knows. This was especially true in my neighborhood at home. My friends from earliest childhood accepted me, but as new kids moved in, it wasn't long before they knew I was still in diapers. But by the time I was eight or nine, I was more embarrassed about my odors, leaks, BM accidents, etc.
Ron	56	Did not want other's to know that I had to wear diapers, especilly when going to school. And had problems hideing them, especilly when gym class came around. I had to go into the washroom and remove my diapers so in the locker room my school budys would not see that I was wearing diapers.

Ron	56	No very shy! Just had to wear clothes that were a larger size, so others could not see that I was wearing diapers. But this did not really work at times.
	60	I think my mother enjoyed letting her friends know that she had this diaper wearing son causing her extra work. She would gladly tell them how I was a real diaper soaker. She had no problem with them asking to check and change my diapers. At 15 years old one of my mothers friends ask mom if her 13 year old daughter could learn to change diapers with me as the part of the baby. Mom said yes. To help the cause I was given a laxative (I didn't know then), and had to drink alot. The accident happen on a road trip, and she changed me in the back seat with the two mom's giving her instructions. I died inside.
poohter	49	I had several women babysit me when I was young. As I got older, the girls would get jobs, or go on to college so the girls that were available to babysit got closer and closer to my own age. When I was 13, my babysitter Susan turned 17 and got a job. Her cousin Linda was told about me and came to babysit and replaced Susan. Linda was tall and very pretty and had a womans figure so I thought that she was in high school. She was very nice and always made me feel OK about being in diapers. When I found out that she was 13 too, I was so embarrased but she was loving and made it a point to comfort and protect me.

Mike P	55	As an adolescent I tried to minimize other people's awareness of my incontinence issues. I couldn't do much at home because my stuff needed to be out in the open, but at school I began changing myself in a boys' bathroom that was less frequently used by other kids. There were two sets of bathrooms (boys' and girls') in the wing where the high school classrooms were, but one pair was further down the hall, and that's where the kids with spina bifida went to get changed. Although there were no restrictions on who could use which bathrooms, it just worked out that those of us who needed to be changed used these two bathrooms.
Ron	56	Not too much shyness, but still shy when times came about to change in the locker room at school/or any place in public where you have to change your clothing. Otherwise I as long as I could hide the diapers under my clothes I felt so good in diapers.

Mike P	55	Again I try not to be too open about it. In public I always change myself in a stall with a door. I know that if people look under the stall door they can probably see the diaper I'm changing on the floor inside the stall. I can't help that. But, I'm very meticulous about my clothing so that my shirt is always tucked in and my trousers are always pulled up above my plastic pants, so there's no tell-tale sign that I'm wearing a diaper. I'm also more aggressive about getting to the bathroom if I think I have an odor (urine or stool). I'm not ashamed of the fact that I'm incontinent, and obviously lots of people in my life know that I have no bowel or bladder control, but I just feel the whole world doesn't need to know.

She was always using her knowledge of my diapers to get her way at everything by threatening to tell everyone about my diapers. Many times she humilitated my in public places by revealing my baby diaper to everyone or by announcing loudly that I needed my diaper changed because I had wet myself.

And I am scared that other adults will laugh at me or something even if none of them have and so I don't really want them to know either but then I don't have too much choice because if I am in just my diapers then everyone knows anyway so I guess it doesn't matter if I trust them or not because they will already know.

Mike P	55	As a kid, I didn't want other kids to know, although sooner or later they found out. As an adult, as I make new friends and become closer to them, I usually explain my disability to them. But for those who probably don't suspect it and don't really need to know, I don't share this aspect of my handicap with them.
Ron	56	I do not trust any other people as they could bring attention to others that I wear duapers. But if other people find out so be it. I would tell them I have to wear them because of my Incontenence. I would rather wear diapers than to wet or mess my pants, especilly out in public.
