The Diapered Team by XJ

In the backyard of the Williamsons, Charles and Andrew
were tossing a baseball back and forth between each other.
Charles and Andrew and his mom and dad moved into their new
town, Coldbrook just three weeks ago. They haven't met
anyone yet, but they are shy, because of them wearing
diapers.
"Charles," Andrew said, "Do you think we will meet
anybody like Tommy and Nathan?" Tommy and Nathan were
diapered friends at their old town.
Charles said, "I hope we will meet some kids. I do see
kids walking up the street who look like our ages, so I
hope we can."
Their mom came out of the backdoor and said, "Charles
and Andrew, do you need changing? We have to go to the
supermarket."
Charles and Andrew didn't need to be changed, so they
put on their shorts and went to the car. Andrew and Charles
slid up the sliding door to their minivan and got in.
Mrs. Williamson got in and started the car. As she
backed down the driveway, she asked, "How do you think
you'll love the town? I should stop at the library." She
looked out the window and said, "This is a beautiful town."
Andrew said, "Mom, does this town have year round
school? How come they aren't out yet?" They moved 3 days
after they got out for summer vacation, but they started in
early August, while the kids here don't go back until after
Labor Day.
Mrs. Williamson said, "They start later than in
Florida and I guess they had a few snow days, so they are
still in school. Want to see the school?"
Charles said, "Are we in the same school, mom?"
His mom said, "Nope, you are going into Cold-Spring
Middle School, the regional middle school for Coldbrook and
Spingfield, while Andrew is going to Coldbrook East School.
Cold-Spring Middle School has a good soccer team and
Coldbrook, Springfield, Latham and Andover - this region -
has a great little league team."
Charles said, "They do? I hope I could play. I
wouldn't mind playing. I just hope no one will say
anything."
His mom interrupted him and said, "Charles David, you
know you need diapers so just be honest. If you don't, you
might get kidded by more kids then if you just tell that
you need them."
Charles said, "Mom, what can I say? Oh I hope you
don't mind, but I wear diapers? That is uncool!"
"Tell them that you were born with that problem. If
you are friends first, who knows, you might find someone to
be friends with." She pulled into a space at the BlueStar
Supermarket and said, "Come on, lets go shopping."
Pulling into another space was Marge Eastwood with her
11 son, Peter and her 8 year old son, Aaron. Peter said,
"Mom, how long will we be here?"
Mrs. Eastwood said, "Just a few minutes. We need to
get a few things." They got out of the car and headed to
the entrance of BlueStar.
