MY VACATION WHEN I WAS 5

	When I was five, I went to Long Beach Island with my 
mom and dad. Its only three hours from our house, but my 
mom used to own a house down there so we always go there. 
Now we stay in a hotel but we still love it. When I was 
five I was still in diapers. I didn't potty train until I 
was almost 6. I remember most of it because it was the last 
summer I was wearing diapers. Back then I wore Huggies 
diapers. I remember a while before we got in the car, my 
dad put a new diaper on me. Huggies were regular plastic 
then. They didn't have the soft outer cloth feel. They did 
have the prints on the top. There were cars and trucks on 
the size 5 diaper. When we got in the car I was already wet 
but my parents didn't notice and I didn't care. It was 
really hot and I remember sweating a lot in the diaper. I 
was only wearing a shirt with it cause my dad told me to 
take off my shorts because it was too hot.
	We were in traffic on the parkway and it took a long 
time to get there. We stopped at a parkway rest stop 
because my dad had to pee. He took me out of the back seat 
and asked me if I had to pee. Of course I already peed in 
the diapers. He took me out anyway when he saw how wet my 
diaper was. He didn't bring the diaper bag though. He 
didn't even put my shorts back on me and I was walking to 
the busy bathroom with him in a soggy diaper and a T-shirt. 
When we got into the bathroom, my dad went to the bathroom 
and turned to me and asked me again if I had to go. I said 
no because I was going in the diaper again. He said he 
forgot the diaper bag and we had to go back to the car to 
get it. We walked all the way back to the car and the 
diaper started dribbling down my legs. It was real leaky.
	When we got back to the car, my dad decided that we 
could wait to change me because we were already half way 
there. He couldn't see how leaky my diaper was because I 
didn't have my shorts on so there was no wet spot and my 
shirt was covering most of it. Even though I wasn't 
training, I still knew I was too old to wear diapers and I 
was embarrassed wearing them without pants on in public. 
	When we got to the hotel, my diaper was so wet that it 
squished and leaked when I pressed the front of it. I was 
leaking around the waist, legs and even soaking around the 
back on the seat. By that time, my T-shirt had a big wet 
spot on it from leaking around the legs. When my dad helped 
me out of the back seat and I stood up in the parking lot 
my diaper was sagging down as far as it would go without 
falling off completely. When my mom saw it she yelled at my 
dad for not changing me. My dad isn't mean, he just doesn't 
think sometimes. When we checked in my dad asked the man at 
the front desk where he could change me. The man said it 
would only take a minute to get up to our room but my dad 
said that I was really wet. We went to the bathroom in the 
hall and I got changed. The whole week was really fun. We 
went to the beach everyday cause it was sunny everyday. One 
day at the beach, I met another little boy named Doug. He 
didn't wear diapers and I had one on under my swimming 
trunks. He asked me why I still wore diapers and I said I 
don't know. Then we went in the water. It seems weird now 
that I was old enough to play in the waves by without my 
parents but I wasn't using the toilet. (actually, at that 
time I was using the toilet to poop sometimes but I never 
peed in the toilet). After an hour of playing, my friends 
mom said that Doug had to have something to eat for lunch 
and my dad took me back to our towel to change me. My 
diaper was real saggy because I was in the ocean. I looked 
like that baby in the Little Swimmers commercial except I 
was much older. I remember that a few people looked at me 
when I was getting changed and I felt weird but then after 
Doug ate we started playing again. The one night, my diaper 
leaked when I was sleeping and my parents had to call a 
maid to change the sheets. I didn't think a 5 year-old 
could pee so much! I was always a skinny kid and when I was 
5, I peed too much for Huggies but they were the only ones 
I fit in- that's why I was always leaking. Even now, I wear 
XL toddler diapers to bed or the smallest goodnights when I 
don't want anyone to see my diapers. Goodnights leak really 
bad on me. I think Pampers work better than Goodnites 
because they're plastic. Too bad I don't fit in adult 
diapers because they might work better. That vacation was 
the last time I was down the shore and wearing diapers 
during the day. I have pictures of that vacation and a lot 
of other occasions when I was that age still in diapers. I 
have a lot of other memories of wearing diapers when I was 
a kid. also I still have experiences with diapers now cause 
I wet the bed.
